CONTE HUGUES Chardonnay Sicilia DOC Biologico

The 2023 vintage was characterized by a slightly cooler spring, generating a delay in vegetative recovery of 3-7 days in the different areas straddling the provinces of Trapani and Palermo. The following months of May, June, and July were characterized by higher than average maximum temperatures, but also by a restrained vegetative phase that allowed for weather anomalies, such as the absence of rainfall until August. The early international varieties of central-west Sicily located at altitudes close to 450/500 m asl were harvested in early September under more ideal and stable climatic conditions in which the markedly aboveaverage temperature ranges allowed the vines to produce toned grapes with great phenolic ripeness and distinct aromaticity.
