SCIÙ Susumaniello Salento IGT

Sciù is an elegant and structured wine made from Susumaniello grapes in the IGT Salento region. Named after the local term for a plow's yoke, it evokes the hard labor of the fields and the tireless "somarello" workhorse. The vines thrive on calcareous-clay soils at 30 meters above sea level. Harvested mechanically in the early morning of September, Sciù undergoes red vinification with controlled temperature maceration. Aged for six months in barrels, it develops a spicy finish. With a deep red color and aromas of red fruits and Mediterranean herbs, Sciù offers a refined and well-structured taste. Ideal with grilled or stewed red meats and aged cheeses, it's perfect for those seeking a blend of tradition and sophistication.
